Our Team
Vitric Advisors proudly partners with experts all over the country to deliver the highest quality service based on our clients’ unique needs.
Daniel Cohn serves as President of Vitric Advisors. With 15 years of experience in philanthropy, external affairs, and public policy and advocacy, Dan has a proven track record of identifying and tackling complex problems, building cross-functional teams, and transforming organizational operations to drive impact. He is a highly effective communicator who builds and maintains strong relationships with diverse stakeholders at all levels, and he is passionate about supporting those who advance social impact through inclusive, team-oriented leadership.
Prior to launching Vitric, Dan served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of the Mt. Sinai Health Foundation. There he oversaw partnership development and coalition-building and managed the grantmaking team in community health and public policy. In 2019, Dan launched the Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition, a 500-member, public-private partnership aimed at ending childhood lead exposure throughout Cleveland. At the same time, Dan co-led the executive team that raised $140+ million for the nation’s first-ever fund to support low-income property owners in making environmentally safe home repairs. From 2020 to 2021, Dan co-directed Cleveland’s COVID-19 Rapid Response Fund, a $20+ million collective impact initiative that pooled public and private resources to address the fallout of the coronavirus pandemic. In this capacity, he served as Ohio Governor Mike DeWine’s liaison to the region’s nonprofit community and received commendation for his role in getting tens of thousands of Northeast Ohio residents vaccinated against the coronavirus.
In 2022, Dan served a dual role as Interim Executive Director (on loan) of First Year Cleveland—Northeast Ohio’s public-private partnership aimed at reducing infant mortality—through a turnaround operation that refocused the agency on community-based strategies to improve the lives of Black women. Before that, he was appointed by the Mayor of Lakewood, OH, to chair an 18-month initiative to build from scratch a new philanthropic foundation—the Healthy Lakewood Foundation—in the wake of a politically contentious hospital closure.
Before joining Mt. Sinai in 2015, Dan served as Assistant Director of Cornell University’s Center for Engaged Learning + Research, evaluating and managing programs that engaged faculty in translating their academic interests toward meeting community needs. He was a Fellow with the Congressional Hunger Center in the early 2010s, during which time he helped launch a national “food as medicine” advocacy initiative. He was later stationed at the USDA Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships working on First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! campaign and on economic development outreach in the rural South.
Dan’s academic background is in public health anthropology, ethics, and public affairs, and he actively engages in self-study around art and design. In his [limited] free time, Dan owns and operates Collected Home—an interior design consulting firm and home décor retail shop. He also enjoys snuggling his extremely needy—but very sweet—dog, Lily; travels globally; and spends as much time with loved ones as possible
